It is important for homeowners to regularly maintenance their home to maintain its value and to avoid costly repairs that can come from neglecting the home. Fall is an great time of year in Colorado, the leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and the fall community activities are abundant. However, with dropping temperatures, falling leaves, and snow just on the horizon its important to complete your fall home maintenance items during the short fall season. Here is a checklist for you to prepare your home for the fall season:
- Blow out sprinklers
- Detach hoses from outside spikets to prevent freezing
- Gutter Clean Out
- Furnace Check and replace the filter
- AC Maintenance & Cover
- Chimney Sweep & Check
- Check your fire and carbon monoxide detectors
- Bring in or cover outdoor furniture
- Clean out window wells
- If you store firewood, keep it at least 20ft away from the home
- Remove any dead tree branches above roofs and power lines
